Drive Up the Canyon...

Fall time is here and the most perfect date would be to drive up the canyon and go for a walk.  Admire the beauty of the trees and the change of nature as you drive/walk around.  My favorite canyon to drive up is the Alpine Loop.  There are stops along the way where you can park, get out, and take short nature walks.

*Also, with it being October, get ready for an overload of FUN date ideas filled with pumpkins, fall food, Halloween costumes, and coziness!*

Tie Dye Update...

Derek and I put our tie dye date idea to the test around the 4th of July.  We wanted to wear matching "firework" shirts.  It ended up being around $15.  This included the kit and the shirts.  It was fun wearing our shirts at the Stadium of Fire.  We felt a little out of place as we weren't wearing red, white, and blue, but we fit right in with the firework show after the performance.

Redbox Promo Codes...

Okay, so here is the cheapest date ever.  It's free, unless you want to buy popcorn.  Derek and I have Netflix, but sometimes the movies I want to see are not on Netflix.  Darn Netflix.  I have discovered, the even though smart phones can be quite dumb at times, they are very smart.  Look up promo codes to get free red boxes.  Just make sure you take the movie back in time so you won't need to pay the late fees.

I Love to Ride My Bicycle...

I think this is probably the cheapest date idea yet.  This will be a short post, but there are so many bike trails.  Whether you want to ride around a park or a mountain biking trail,
as long as you have a bike, this date is
FREE.
I would add that to make this date even better, go to a local snow shack shop
AFTER the bike ride and buy your date a shaved ice.
With the weather being hot this is a perfect way to cool down.
And it should only cost you about $7.

The Joys of Tie-Dye. . .

The other night, my new fiance and I, decided to get some plain white shirts and tie dye.  You can buy the whole kit at Walmart for around 10-15 dollars.  The shirts are right there on the shelf for not more than 5 dollars.

The instructions are right on the tie dye kit:
damp the shirt with warm water
twist your shirt and rubberband it
just add water to the tie-dye water
put on the gloves and tie-dye away

After your done tie-dying your shirts, you will want to put them in plastic bags and let them sit for at least 10 hours.  On the instructions it says at least 8.  I have found that the longer you let your shirt sit, it will seep in the color more.  So if you want your shirt bright, then let it sit longer.

After it sits, rinse out the color until it runs clear in the bathtub.  The dye won't stain your tub, so don't worry.  Then put it in a large cycle in the washing machine on hot....let it dray and
badda bing, badda boom, you have matching tie dye shirts with the one you love or like or maybe you don't like them too much because they are strange.

Note:  This date can be even cheaper if you do it with another couple or 2 other couples.
One tie dye kit can make about 5-6 shirts.

Twister with a Twist

A friend from high school told me about this twisted idea.
You play the game TWISTER with dish soap and water.
It becomes very slippery, but it also cools you down.
Can you imagine the slipping and sliding
and falling on this twister board mat?
How fun would this be to do it with a
girl/guy that you are just so totes in love with?
There would be so much love....and soap flying around.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

1.  Dish Soap
(You can buy it at the dollar store.)
2.  The game of Twister
(If you don't have it, borrow it)
3.  A Water Source
(A hose or buckets of water)
